Performance Company Oblivia

Working with Oblivia: Promotional photography, live performance documentation, communication and web coordination 2003 – 2014

I have been working with the performance company Oblivia since 2003 and until 2014. I made both their promotional photos and the performance documentation/production photos. The collaboration evolved and via the Entertainment Island-project we started to make a more profound collaboration, which could be seen in the part of the project called Entertainment Island 5: Lounge & exhibition, which was on display in Kiasma in November 2010.

During 2011 Entertainment Island was on tour and the exhibition travelled with it to some of the venues.

From 2010 I also started as their web coordinator (which included work with communication involving marketing campaigns online, social media and web as well as in print media). During 2012 we made Oblivia a new website to launch the project Museum of Postmodern Art. The website coordination, planning and design was a joint project together with Oblivia's graphic designer Pia Petterson.

In 2014 our ways parted with Oblivia. After 11 years the entire body of work tell an impressive story of collaboration.

Oblivia still uses the photography I made for them. First example is a meme flyer I made for their SUPER MOPMA performance during the Helsinki Night of the Arts in 2014 (all photography by me). The second example is a photo from the MOPMA-series featuring Anna Krzystek visualising a recent documentary about them.
